Drip Irrigation

Drip Irrigation

West Africa

Agricultural production is reduced for a long period of the year (October to June) because of the dry season and low rainfall during this period.

The system of drip irrigation would bring to both a very substantial improvement in agricultural yields, a saving of irrigation water and the ability to irrigate crops for longer periods through better use of reserves water.

The project

In the rural areas, the project will provide farmers with a basic training and it will give them a drip irrigation kit ensuring better productivity in their family farming. The provided 'family dripping kit' includes all the elements to water a 500 sq meter vegetable garden.

The first phase of the project will address 250 farmers, and includes training, monitoring, counseling and follow-up.
