World ORT International Cooperation periodically recruits Experts for missions of both short and long duration financed by companies, associations, foundations and governments.

Throughout a specific period of time, these Experts take on the role of advisors or instructors in a cooperative partnership setting. During the course of their mission, Experts must contribute to the setup, development and implementation of project activities as well as ensure the institutional reinforcement of partner administrations.

Their actions must adhere to all appropriate steps as used by both partners and recipients. Thus they take on the responsibility of liaising with the local inhabitants, the analysis of requirements and existing issues, as well as the recruitment and management of local staff.

In order to achieve this, World ORT IC recruits men and women from all professional and cultural sectors possessing a high degree of technical competency, the aptitude to pass on their skills, as well as the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

In order to meet specific quality standards, World ORT IC is looking for Experts whose profile matches a series of minimal requirements, which are as follow:

  • possess an appropriate University degree or the equivalent in professional experience;
  • possess several years of professional experience within the fields of preparation, implementation and/or evaluation of projects or development programmes funded by donor organisations;
  • possess several years of international experience in developing countries within the sector pertaining to the particular intervention;
  • show evidence of supervisory, managerial and negotiation skills, including planning ability;
  • demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team or, if necessary, lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team comprising international and local consultants;
  • master the local language (English, French, Spanish and/or specific local dialects);
  • possess excellent editorial aptitude and a good knowledge of office automation;
  • demonstrate honesty, integrity, respect for cultural diversity, motivation, optimism and enthusiasm;
